"As much as chairman Moores has tried to tell us in advance what its like to be at a Liverpool match and what it mant to really have rabid fans," he said.

"The fans of Liverpool are amazing, perhaps anywhere in sports in the world.

"We've actually been to many away games and the Liverpool fans are louder in many cases than the local fans and we're proud of that."
