Gillett refuses to comment on rumours

There is a rumour doing the rounds that the club's American owners have hired the US bank Merrill Lynch to find a buyer for Liverpool FC. However, when interviewed on Canadian radio station Fan 590 Gillett refused to comment either way on the story.

"We would not have any comment on that. There is too much speculation already," Gillett said when asked about finding a buyer. He also claimed most stories in the British media are 'made up'.
