Gonzales impresses

Gonzales gave an impressive performance as Chile continued their recent run of good form to pick up a 1-0 win at Lansdowne Road. It was from Gonzales' free kick that Chile scored their winner after his simple pass into the box caused problems for the Irish and allowed Manuel Iturra to poke home the winner.

Gonzales also hit the post and brought two good saves out of Irish goalkeeper Shay Given. His all round display was a timely one as Liverpool are set to apply for a new work permit for the winger.
