"The Neil Mellor deal is not dead but I haven't spoken to Liverpool since the start of the season," said Gradi.
"We wanted him in the summer but that was before we signed Mark Rivers. Rivo has come in, scored goals and taken that spare place.
"We don't even know if Neil is available because we haven't spoken to Liverpool but we don't need him at the moment but he is still a player we admire."
