The young Frenchman has failed to ingratiate himself with many members of the Anfield squad - he was dubbed 'Cantona' for his aloof attitude - and is hoping to relaunch his flagging career at Ibrox.
Vignal said: "I spoke to him Alex McLeish this morning and he was happy with me so now he wants to keep me. I am happy as well because this is a big club and I have a chance to play.
"My agent is coming tomorrow morning and he will have a chat with Martin Bain (Director of Football Business at Ibrox) about my contract so we will wait and see tomorrow morning. It is exciting because Rangers are a big club, like Liverpool. They have a good team this year so I'm very pleased to be here."
