If planning permission is granted in May then the new Stanley Park stadium will be expected to be completed in time for the 2006/7 season.
"The club has not been given a date when the stadium will be considered by planners, but we are confident that everything will go smoothly, to allow us to open on schedule." said club spokesman Ian Cotton.
