Hamann and Carragher have been missed - Owen

"Didi's been a massive loss for us this season," Owen told the official site. "I don't think there are many better holding midfielders in the world than Didi.

"I'm looking forward to having him fit and back in the team again, and so is everyone from through to the coaching staff and management. He's a fantastic player for us."

The Liverpool striker also believes that Jamie Carragher's imminent return will bolster morale.

"We probably miss his buzz in the dressing room. He's always lively and keeps everyone on their toes.

"We've probably been missing his enthusiasm around the place because he's great to have around. He's having treatment at the minute and it'll be a good day when he comes back."
