Hamann demands consistency

The Reds are currently seven points behind Everton who lie in fourth place. If Liverpool are to overtake the Blues their results must become more consistent says Hamann.

"So far in the league we've not produced as many good performances and points as we should have done. It's about us trying to keep improving from now on," says the German.

"We've been so inconsistent this season. We've played some very good games and some poor ones as well. By our standards I don't think we've picked enough points up and it won't be easy to come fourth.

"We're seven points behind Everton and they've got to come here to play us but, even if we beat them we'll be four points adrift.

"The lack of consistency has been down to a few factors. Not just injuries, but the fact that new players have come in who have been adjusting.

"We just haven't had the level we should have had, the level you need to compete right at the top. It's a big ask for us to get fourth but it's about winning games again."
