Hamann hails friend Fowler

While the legendary Kop idol pounced late on in the game to deny Liverpool all three points after Hamann had spectacularly given them a 2-1 advantage, the German international midfielder had only the kindest of words for his former colleague.
Hamann said: "Robbie is a great lad and the Liverpool fans appreciate him for what he did for this club. He is a great player and he did great things for Liverpool and he will always be welcomed back to this club with open arms. He still has a lot of great friends at this club."
