Hamann hits out at transfer rumours

Former club Bayern Munich and Spanish giants Real Madrid are said to be admirers of the 29-year-old, but the player himself has made it clear that he is more then happy to remain a part of Gerard Houllier's plans for many more years to come.

Hamann said: "It just goes to show it was all speculation. This has happened to me for the last three or four years now and it always seems to start up at the same times each year.

"I don't know why it happens and I'm not that interested. I am still here so it shows there was no truth in the rumours at all. All I know is I have two years left to go on my contract and I am happy here."
