Hamann sets his sights on revenge

On a night when Liverpool were comprehensively outplayed at the Mestalla Hamann suffered a double blow when sent off for two bookable offences.

But now the midfielder is looking tp put that match behind him, and help regain some of the pride that was lost that night.

"It's always disappointing when you lose but even more so in Valencia because it was the first game and it's always important to get off to a good start.

"But we've taken seven points from our last three games so we've got a good chance of reaching the next stage.

"It's a case of pride after we were beaten out there and outplayed for most of the time. We want to show we are better than that and capable of beating them.

"We were not at our best that night. Valencia are a good side with a fantastic Champions League record but we didn't play to our standards that night and that's why we got beat.

"We've done well since and we are hopeful about getting a result at Anfield. Valencia are the only team to beat us this season but the main motivation for us is to get the ten points that can take us through if Basel don't beat Moscow."
