Hamann tips Carra for captain

Carragher gave another man-of-the-match performance against Everton on Sunday and has led by example all season. His consistency has led to Didi Hamann hailing Carra as an inspirational leader.

He said: "If the captaincy comes up at any stage, then why not Carra? He has all the qualities, and that shone through again against Everton. Carra is the sort of player who always leads by example, and he turned in another top performance.

"He does it all the time. You know you can depend on him in any situation."
