The Academy director was critical of Gerard Houllier's lack of faith in the youth system, but after seeing Stephen Warnock and Darren Potter break into the first team squad, he believes there will be more chances under Benitez.
"From the discussions I've had with the new manager I see no reason why the Academy boys will not be given a chance," he told the official site. "I'm confident that if any boy shows he's got sufficient talent, then he'll get promoted, first into the reserve team then the first team."
