The successful pairing of Jamie Carrageher and Sami Hyppia at the back has forced Henchoz onto the sidelines this season, and Rafael Benitez is unsure that the swiss defender has a future at Anfield.

Benitez said:"I'm not sure about Stephane Henchoz's future at this moment. We have two months until the January transfer window and then we will see.

"He could play some games but at this moment it is very difficult for him because Carragher and Hyypia are playing very well together," he added.
