Henchoz aiming for Champions League

Sunday's 2-0 victory over Manchester United guaranteed the Reds a place in Europe next season. Henchoz believes that having a place in European competition secured will allow the tram to express themselves more freely.

Henchoz told the club's official website: "Everyone wanted this trophy. It's not the biggest one, but we are now already in Europe and we know what our target is now for the rest of the season.

"This is a springboard. We are under pressure to finish fourth in the Premiership and at least we have one trophy and our confidence boosted for the run-in.

"Maybe now the pressure will be a lot less than it has been in recent weeks. It has been a difficult season for us so far, but we have 10 games to play and our target is the Champions League.

"We have not had the results we expected in the league. We are not in a good position and still have to make up a lot of ground, but everything is still possible. We can build something now."
