The former Hamburg and Blackburn man made his first start of the season as Rafael Benitez's men unconvincingly booked their place in the Champions League proper and he insists that Europe has much to fear from the Merseyside outfit.
Henchoz, speaking to the club's official website, said: "I think we'll do well in the competition. It wasn't a great performance by us the other night but the important thing is we qualified.
"We still have three players to make their debuts for us and I'm sure they will bring something to the team. It's still less than two months since the new manager came here and we're still getting used to his ideas.
"We're looking to improve game by game but I think the performance in midweek showed we still have a lot of hard work to do."
