Heskey facing late fitness test - Xavier ruled out

Xavier - "too ill"

Further to our earlier team news which reported that the Reds would be without Vladimir Smicer, Gregory Vignal and Vegard Heggem for tomorrow's game against Man City, we can now reveal that Emile Heskey (groin) will face a late fitness test prior to the game - he has been included in the provisional squad.

Abel Xavier is another player that will miss out. He's deemed "too ill" to travel.
