Heskey remains confident

The Reds striker insists that he is a naturally confident player, despite the views of many critics to the contrary.

Heskey said: "I don't feel I lack confidence at all. In fact, I'm quite a confident lad and people have got me wrong when they think I lack confidence.

"People are entitled to their opinions but I'm happy with my performances for England. I prefer playing in the middle up front with another striker, but I can play on the left and have no problem with that.

"I hope that Michael Owen likes playing alongside me. I think he does because he has not said anything yet and we complement each other well."
