Heskey still believes

The Reds 2-1 defeat at Birmingham has left them a disappointing seventh in the table - five points behind Chelsea and Everton. Despite this setback Heskey refuses to give up hope of a top four finish.

"We're really disappointed about what happened yesterday but we need to pick ourselves up and get over it as soon as we can," Heskey told the club's official website.

"We've got two big games coming up later this week and we can't afford to go into them feeling down about the Birmingham game.

"Of course this has been a bad season for us so far and things have gone wrong, but there's still time to put it right and that's what we'll be looking to do. We just have to keep on battling and hope things come right for us.

"We're not going to give up. The top four is still a possibility for us but we can't afford too many more mistakes now, that's for sure."
