Hiding shocks Dudek

Dudek had a nightmare performance against Arsenal in Tuesday's Carling Cup game as Liverpool lost a bizzare game 6-3. Afterwards he admitted the result left him feeling gutted.

"I am devastated and disappointed. The last time I let in six goals I was very young," said the Reds' back up goalkeeper.

"I wanted to take my opportunity in these two cup ties and build some confidence after six or seven months without much football, then I face a side like Arsenal. It is very difficult.

"For a goalkeeper you need experience but you can never beat confidence. Arsenal had a different team from Saturday, but they have some very talented and skilful players.

"We knew it would be a good opportunity for some of our young lads as well to show their ability.

"I suppose this should be like taking a cold shower for us, to wake us up. Now we need to fight as much as we can in the Premiership and take that into the Champions League in February.

"We hardly ever concede goals yet in two games we have conceded nine.

"This is very strange not just for the team but for me. I have not played regularly and was hoping to get something out of the games. But I am very disappointed."
