Honours even between Reds

Dirk Kuyt gave the Dutch a tenth minute lead when he was gifted the ball in the area by ugly defender Rio Ferdinand. The Liverpool forward rounded Rob Green and slotted in from a tight angle.

Holland made it 2-0 before half-time thanks to another error, this time by money grabber Gareth Barry. Subsitute Jermaine Defoe scored twice in the second half to level things for England.

Johnson played the full 90 minutes for England while Kuyt played 77 minutes for Holland. Ryan Babel was a half-time subsitute for the Dutch.
