Houllier aiming for record bid

The Anfield club, along with Barcelona, Inter Milan and Juventus, have held the trophy aloft on three occasions and Houllier is ready to make history in this season's competition.

Houllier said: "No club has won the UEFA Cup four times so we can make history by lifting it again this season. It's going to be difficult as there are some very strong teams in the competition like Barcelona, Roma and Valencia, but that is our aim."
