Houllier angry with penalty decision

Liverpool took an early lead through Emile Heskey, but Igor Biscan was sent off for a foul on Steve Marlet and Marseille were awarded a penalty, which they scored before going on to win the game 2-1 (3-2 on aggregate) with a second-half goal from Abdoulyae Meite.

"I thought it was a very harsh decision and a wrong decision because it was outside the penalty box," he said. "I don't think he'd have given a penalty if it had been the other way.

"Despite that the effort was magnificent and I feel sorry for the lads and the fans who pravelled because we didn't afford to lose.
