Gerard Houllier has revealed that Markus Babbel could return to action before the season is out.
Babbel, ruled out for seven months with Guillain-Barre syndrome, is missed by every Liverpool supporter and if the Reds win nothing this time around, his return alone would count as a trophy.
"In a dream, I would like Markus to play for just five minutes before the end of the season - and it is a possibility," said the boss.
"He's back now, he's working every day in the gym and sometimes in the indoor and outside facility with the ball. He should certainly be fit for the start of next season. He has made a remarkable recovery.
"Everyone loves him here. Don't forget, he scored six goals last season - including our first in the UEFA Cup Final."
