Houllier blasts Souness

The furious Frenchman feels that Souness, once a darling of the Kop as a
player before relations soured during the Scotsman's disastrous tenure as manager at the club, should have apologised for the horror tackle by Lucas Neill that has left Carragher with a broken leg and a six month absence from his beloved profession.

Houllier said: "When the game had finished, I wish Graeme Souness had come up to me and said 'sorry, it was a bad tackle' but he did nothing.

"That really made me furious. You can imagine if it was one of his players. He would have been on the phone to all his friends in the media.

"I like to think of myself as a nice guy, but in this case I am extremely unhappy with their behaviour during the incident, during the game and after the game.

"Once the match was finished the least they could have done was to have some words of sympathy for Carragher. There's been no remorse.
