While the Frenchman is only too aware of the difficulties involved in any move for the precocious marksman - namely, a £65m buy-out clause - he admits that Reyes would grace any stage on the continent.
Houllier said: "He (Reyes) is an excellent player, very young and yet he would be a regular in any club's first team," enthused Houllier.
"He is a player who is being followed by the world's biggest teams, although for obvious reasons I can't specify names. Who wouldn't want to have Jose Antonio?"
