Houllier delighted with victory

"First I feel for Glenn because he came up against a strong Liverpool side," said Houllier. "He's got a good team, but we scored early and gave a boost and from there it was easy for us. We caught them mostly on set pieces but I think we worked harder than they did.

"Our season starts from now. We know what the target is for us and we'll just go for it.
"I think the secret is working for each other and with the talent we have the work-rate of the team should produce more results.
"Between 29th January and the Final against Manchester United on 2nd March the boys will have 10 games in 30 days," he said when asked about Owen's absence from the starting line-up. "We need to keep the freshness with the strikers so I rested him."
