Houllier disappointed

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's late winner ensured Roman's globetrotters took the three points from the game.

"I'm disappointed with the result but not disappointed with the performance. I feel sorry for the players, they put in a lot of effort and Chelsea only had two chances in that first half and scored one," said Houllier. "We had half a dozen and couldn't score, that's a little problem for us.

"I felt Chelsea were lucky at times, and I gambled with Milan Baros and Steve Finnan going on as well as Diouf to try to change things.

"My team played some good stuff at times but I felt we played too many long balls in the first half but we will correct that.

"Cudicini made a brilliant save from Danny Murphy then saved well from Michael.

"Jerzy Dudek also made two excellent saves which kept us in the game. We wanted to win the game but I thought a draw would have been a fair result

"People still keep telling me that we are negative but we had all our forwards on and had 19 shots so I don't call that negative."
