Houllier disappointed with defeat

Houllier compared the match with the Champions league match in Basle. He said:"A fair result would have been a draw but I'm a very disappointed manager because we can do better. We had as poor a start as we had in Basel, making a mistake and paying for it.

"When you start so badly all you want is to score and equalise. They had three shots at goal first half and scored two. We had chances, including a very good one for Michael Owen in the first half but didn't take them.

"We didn't play particularly badly but defensively we could have done better. We are not taking chances at the moment and defensively we will improve."
