But now after speaking publically about Gerrard's poor form the Liverpool boss believes it to have had the desired effect in training, so much so that he believes that the player is now 'back'.
"The good Steven Gerrard - the one we like - is back now. We have missed him.
"I have noticed a big difference in him during training. His passing is better, his tackling is better and his shooting is better.
"He will be up for the game tomorrow night."
