Houllier said: "The good thing about Stephane is he has played the full 90 minutes in two reserve games and his injury seems to be behind him now.
"He is in contention for the Middlesbrough game but I am am not unhappy with the defence as I think Igor Biscan has done very well alongside Sami Hyypia.
"Stephane's attitude has been spot on and at some stage he will be back in the team."
