Houllier goes back to basics

The Reds boss has revealed that he has focused upon the basic facets of football during training and he is already happy with the performances gained from such an exercise.

Houllier said: "We had a couple of items I wanted to work on last night - I won't tell you what - but at least two of them were fulfilled. During pre-season we have gone back to some basics."
