Houllier hails Diouf influence

The Reds boss concedes that the Senegalise international often frustrates him, but he knows the qualities that a skilful and creative player such as Diouf can bring are paramount to Liverpool's hopes of success in the future.

Houllier said: "We missed Diouf against Celtic last week. Against Leeds he frustrated me at times and he could have done better. But don't forget he is only 22.

"I know some people don't like him but he can create and take defenders on. I like players who can beat players and make something happen."
