Houllier believes that Heskey, who has scored in his last two Premiership appearances to earn Liverpool four vital points, is ready to show his best form as a striker.

He said: "When Emile plays like that it is not a problem playing him up front. He made the first goal and then he went on to score another vital goal for us, just as he did at Southampton. He is back to his best now and his workrate is phenomenal. He is not only a good striker, he is also a very good player for the team."
