The Reds have picked three consecutive 2-0 victories - claiming a trophy and furthering European ambitions in the process. Yesterday's win, Houllier believes, shows that Liverpool are ready to make a concerted bid for a Champions League spot.

Houllier said: "It's been a good week for us beating Auxerre, winning the Worthington Cup and now beating Bolton," claims Gerard. "We have to push on in the Premiership and this was a crucial win for us. We have four days before our next game at Celtic and it's always better when you win because you feel less tired. Celtic had a good win and four days is a decent break for us now."
