Houllier happy with the win

"We appreciate it so much, more because weve been unluky in the last two month," he said after the game.

"We've not deserved 11 games without a win. We've had good games like the one we had this evening but it's been a bad spell.

"We've beaten a good team. They are on a high and getting good results.

we wanted to have a go at them and make things happen.

"I liked the fact that we dug in and showed defensive qualities. I also liked the fact that we played some good football. We had two or three more chances and were better than them.

"It's sometimes good to win 1-0 away from home because it means the defence has done a good job.

"We know we have four games in 11 days. The boys are aware of that. I know their talent and what they are capable of.

"We had to stay strong during the bad spell and we will finish stronger."
