Gerard Houllier has pulled the plug on the on-off off-on transfer of Lee Bowyer to Liverpool.

The club issued the following statement this morning while we were tucked-up in bed nursing our hangovers:

"Liverpool Football Club have decided not to go ahead with the proposed transfer of Lee Bowyer for a variety of reasons.

"Manager Gerard Houllier was not convinced the player had either the hunger or desire to play for the club, qualities which are essential for any Liverpool player."

Who wanted him anyway? He's a thug.... only joking, we're not going to back-track, KopTalk was hoping Bowyer would be signed because he's a quality player, however, Ged's statement about desires and qualities will do for us. Talk about the second coming of Shanks!
