23-year-old Gerrard missed England's midweek clash with Portugal to be at the side of his pregnant girlfriend, and he could yet be unavailable for Liverpool's Cup match if she goes into labour before the match.
Houllier said: "I hope she doesn't give birth before Monday now! He wants to play and I am sure he will unless something happens on Sunday morning."
