Gerard Houllier was in France at the weekend to see Djibril Cisse in action.
The Liverpool manager went to see Auxerre take on Metz and also monitored young starlets Phillipe Mexes and Jean-Alain Boumsong.
Cisse is one of the hottest talents around at the moment and Gerard Houllier has to weigh-up if he is worth breaking the bank for - the early indications suggest he is but that really depends on what happens with Nicolas Anelka and if a sensible transfer fee could be arranged.
Boumsong had a proposed transfer to Anfield fall through two years ago when he was at Le Havre.
