Houllier is not feeling the strain

It is just over twelve months since the Liverpool manager underwent life threatening surgery and one would think the current form of his side cannot be helpful to his continued recuperation.

Houllier, though, is relishing the current challenges faced by his side.

He says: "Is it worth all the hassle? Yes, of course it is. It isn't a problem.

"Health-wise I am absolutely fine even if there are a lot of games at the moment. All the tests have been fine. I have one every six months at the Cardiothoracic Centre.

"People who see me all the time will tell you there is nothing wrong with my health. I am really looking forward to this game - and to the derby.

"After all we've been through and coming so far I am more determined than ever to get us back on track."
