Houllier laments Anfield form

The Reds have won nine games away from Anfield this season - more then any other Premiership team. At home, though, the Reds have endured their worst season for 49 years with a paltry nine wins from their 19 fixtures. Houllier feels that this unenviable record has stopped Liverpool from mounting a serious challenge to Premiership champions Manchester United.

Houllier said: "We have gone ahead five times at home and not won the match. That's where at least 10 points have gone, that's why they are missing and why we are where we are."

"The regret is that we have drawn too many at home, it's not been the away form because we have done very well away, we have the best record for away wins in the Premier League. It is our home record that has let us down this season."
