Houllier looking to the future

The Reds currently occupy the fourth and final Champions League place and Houllier knows his men must give their all in the nine league games remaining to maintain their position.

Houllier said: "I have told the players to forget about last night and to look to the future. I was proud of the way we went about the job last night, especially when we were down to ten men playing against eleven or even twelve men.

"The referee made some wrong decisions but I still felt we could snatch an equaliser, right up until the last minute. It wasn't to be for us on the night.

"We have to get over our frustration from last night and look forward to the nine games we have left. We are fourth at the moment and we want to stay fourth.

"We have most of our players back from injury now and are in good shape for the run-in. We will need to show great mental strength over the last nine games but the lads are determined to get the results necessary, starting at Leicester on Sunday."
