"What happened on Wednesday night is in the past now and I prefer to look forward," said the Liverpool boss.
"I wasn't happy with the performance and the players know it. I have a reputation of being over-protective towards my players but I think I have showed that isn't always the case.
"There was a huge discrepancy between the potential of the team and the result they achieved.
"Now it is a chance for them to stand up and be counted, to take on the responsibility and to prove their worth."
