Houllier: No boasts of disrespect

As Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season continued on Saturday it is the Reds who remain the only unbeaten team in the Football League, pouring cold water on the Gunner's boasts of season long invincibility.

But Gerard Houllier, as ever, refuses to be drawn on the issue as to whether Liverpool can achieve such a feat.

He said: "People may ask whether we can go through the season unbeaten. We'll do our best, but we don't have that lack of respect for other sides to say we can win every game.

"But we do have resilience and we will do our best. We're strong, we're solid and we have a burning desire. We know what we want to achieve.

"We have the spirit. That's probably our greatest asset. We've got more than others. We have that spirit in terms of togetherness on the pitch."
