The 26-year-old striker, who has netted ten times this season, was the subject of a bid from Middlesbrough in January and is now being heavily linked with a summer move to high-flying Birmingham City.
With Djibril Cisse set to join the Reds in a £14m deal this summer, it appears that Houllier is unable to confirm that Heskey will remain an integral part of the Liverpool squad for next season.
Houllier said: "I don't want to make any comment about what has been said about Emile.
"But everybody knows he is part of my team and of the support I have given him, I have not faltered from that.
"I am pleased Emile is coming very, very strong at the end of the season. It is a matter of confidence and also work rate. If you work hard when you have a talent, you are bound to be successful at some stage."
