Gerard Houllier says he is quitely confident of progressing into the semi-finals of the European Cup for a potential 'Battle of Britain' between England's finest clubs - Manchester United and of course ourselves.

"Only 50 per cent of the job has been done but we are confident in ourselves and believe we can go all the way," said Houllier.

"There are 90 minutes left to play and we believe we can make it.

"It was a good result for us. They are flying and showed why they won their group stage. But I think we will do it.

"We are confident but not over-confident.

"The first leg is always the more important game. You can put yourself in a good position to qualify, secure the chance to qualify or ruin it. We are in the middle - we have put ourselves in a good position.

"Manchester United are in a strong position after beating Deportivo La Coruna but if we talk about playing them we are already through - but it would be very interesting against United.

"We have shown in Europe that we can overcome any obstacle. We have gone on to another level this season. It will be an exciting second leg but we love it. No problems."
