The Frenchman knows that he can ill-afford another reverse with the pressure being placed upon his Anfield tenure continuing to increase just as steadily as the Reds have fallenl down the Premiership table.

Despite the immense criticism aimed at the Liverpool manager in the wake of a lacklustre 1-0 defeat at newly-promoted Portsmouth, Houllier has revealed his enthusiasm for the task ahead.

Houllier said: "It's a big game for us and a big game for one of our players who was with them last season. The boys will be up for it and we are all looking forward to the challenge.

"On the back of three defeats in the Premiership, obviously we know there is more importance attached to this game than others. Our approach to the game will be to go for a win."

Will we beat Leeds?
