Houllier ready for 'massive' game

Liverpool's latest attempt to revive their fortunes came to an all too predictable conclusion when the fine victory at Manchester City was followed by defeat at first division Sheffield United. Houllier is aware that his side cannot afford any more slip ups.

He said:"We are aware of the run we are on at the moment and so you can imagine the determination and motivation among the players to do well in this game.

"I would say there are more than three points in this game for us. Psychologically it is a massive game for us and we are desperate to do well and win the match.

"There are 18 games for us still to play in the league and I would say we have to win a lot of them if we are to have a chance of winning the title.

"But, realistically, it is going to be difficult for us to claw back 12 points on Arsenal, particularly as they have been very lucky with referees this season in some games."
