Houllier remains focused on Reds results

Liverpool's win at Everton was all the more important due to the defeats suffered by both Chelsea and Newcastle. The Reds are now just 2 points behind Chelsea and only a further point below third-place Newcastle United. Houllier, though, believes that his side must pay ultimate attention to their own performances.

Houllier said: "Don't ask me to talk about other results and other teams. There is a long way to go and we are just concentrating on what we have to do.

"The only derby I've lost was at Anfield in 1999 when we lost the plot and had two players sent-off. You know in a derby you will have to fight and win the battle. We did that and got the ball on the ground and played on the floor."
