Houllier: Slow starts are holding us back

Houllier said:"I watched Saturday's game again on video and I think what's happening to us at the moment is very strange. Of all the four games we have lost in the Premiership, can you say we didn't deserve a draw in all of them?

"But we started to play when we were 1-0 down. When we did start we showed our best. In the second half on Saturday we did enough to win the game.

"Sometimes it's a matter of confidence and once you are aware of the problem you are 90 per cent of the way to solving it. We need to get more quickly into the game and start stronger because we always finish strong.

"It's not that we have played poorly because with four draws and two more points against Sunderland we should have six points more than we have at the moment.

"I feel very frustrated for the fans and players because it's not as though we didn ' t produce anything.

"The fans who I met who were at the game said to me how unlucky we are and how things are not going our way. Now we must make things go our way and we must start provoking things for ourselves."
